Put faces near the camera
Move the call window so the active speaker is near the top-center of the display. You will naturally look closer to the lens while listening, which matters more than forcing yourself to stare directly into the camera.
Rewrite notes for speaking
Dense paragraphs create scanning eye movement. Convert notes into short prompts, strong verbs, and visible transitions. Increase font size until one glance is enough, then rehearse where you will pause.
Use voice following carefully
A voice-following teleprompter removes the pressure to match a timer, but it still needs a practice run. Choose the input in macOS System Settings → Sound → Input, then test pronunciation, manual fallback controls, and behavior when you improvise.
Respect the room
Private notes can be legitimate, but hidden software does not cancel rules. Tell participants about recording or AI assistance when required, and never use prompts to misrepresent qualifications, work, or consent.
